The rolling Suffolk countryside starts at the door, with footpaths heading east and west, and it’s an idyllic spot for walkers, cyclists, birdwatchers, or just to escape into a tranquil haven and switch off for a few days.

The pretty riverside town of Woodbridge is 4 miles away, where you can find great places to eat including the award winning Riverside restaurant and the chic Crown Inn. Good pubs abound, and the Suffolk Heritage Coast is a short drive away with Aldeburgh and Southwold both easily accessible. And travelling away from the coast the exquisitely preserved mediaeval towns of Lavenham and Long Melford with their famous antique shops are easily reached. Historical sites nearby include Sutton Hoo, Framlingham and Orford Castles, and Constable country is under an hour by car.
